Scenic Ride to the Top The ride takes you to the highest point on the island with incredible views the entire way. Once you get to the top, you can walk around, grab a drink or a bite at the cafe and take in the panoramic views. Definitely worth adding to your Italy itinerary.

Outstanding views This was well worth the small wait to get in, ski lift style chair up Monte Solaro. Queue moves fairly quickly - be aware people do try to push in. Free lockers at the bottom for rucksacks etc. Views at the top were outstanding, there is a bar & restaurant at the top.

Great views, worth a visit A great novelty getting the chair lift up to the viewpoint, we took a taxi from the port up to the square in Anacapri which is right outside the chairlift, if you do this they give you a voucher to save €2 off the chairlift ticket. The journey up and down is both relaxing and a well needed rest! Once at the top the view is amazing, we got there around 9am or just before and it was very quiet. We then had coffee in the cafe which was a tad overpriced (€17 for 2!!) but what do you expect being the only place there? By the time we came back down people were queuing and it was all a bit chaotic looking so definitely get there early. If you queue for a bus/taxi back to Capri just be patient, they are slow but do turn up! Taxi's will pull up in front of the queue when they are available, do not walk over to them as they will not take you for some reason. Great experience and would recommend it

Breathtaking views The chairlift to the top is a great experience. So peaceful with breathtaking views. Bit of a queue to get on at the bottom but no queue coming back.

Brilliant a must do experience A must do if you visit Capri is the chair lift ride to the top of Monte Solaro. You need to go to up to Anacapri to access it. We headed straight up to the chairlift when we landed in Capri for a days visit. Luckily being so early we only had to wait about ten minutes in the line for the chairlift. Advisable to get a return ticket. It takes about 12/13 minutes to reach Monte Solaro where you will get the most spectacular view of Capri and across the Sorrento peninsula. There is a restaurant at the top and a small shop. I was nervous of going on the chairlift but once you are seated it is a beautiful and relaxing ride. At any time you are only about 12 feet of the ground where you pass over residents gardens and further up you see the wild mountain goats grazing. Well worth taking the time to go up to Monte Solaro which is the highest point of the island. It was the highlight of my Capri visit.

Great food, service meh The view from the rides up and down and at the top were fantastic! Rating is more for the restaurant at the top, and more specifically the service. My wife and I were able to get through the line at the bottom in about 30 minutes. Once at the top, we decided to grab a light lunch. We were quickly sat at a table and asked if the kitchen taking 15 minutes to fill an order was ok. We said yes. The food was very good, but the problem came when it was time for us to leave. We asked our waiter for the check while he was clearing our plates. At this time he asked if we were paying with cash or card. When we told him we’d be paying by card he told us he would be back with the machine. After this we watched him clear other tables, run multiple trips with plates from the service/bus station down to the kitchen a level below. Taking orders, running to the bar. All of this occurred with him making eye contact with us and ignoring us each time. After more than 10 minutes had passed my wife now stood up and was still ignored. A few minutes later she walked over to the bar and complained. Someone else then came over, gave us our bill and promptly took payment. Our waiter tried to ignore us again, but we asked him for tokens to use the bathroom. After at least 10 minutes

Worth it! Fabulous experience taking the chairlift during our visit to Capri and we would highly recommend. We were really pleasantly surprised when we arrived at the station in Anacapri to find only a 5 minute wait, as we were expecting it to be much longer. The chair lift up was amazing. The views were stunning and it was a really great opportunity for some peace as you made your way up to the top. At €15 for a return I would say it was well worth the money and definitely a bucket list moment for us being in Capri.

Amazing view The view from up top is amazing, the only problem is the chairlift up. We had to wait about 45 minutes in the scolding sun to get on the chairlift. Was it 100% worth it? It's personal, some people in our group said it was and some said it wasn't, but the view is breathtaking.
